Andalusia allocates €700,000 for training people affected by silicosis
The Andalusian regional government has announced €700,000 in grants for online training for employed and unemployed people affected by silicosis. Focus Piedra reports that €500,000 is allocated to the unemployed stream and €200,000 to employed workers, across 2026 and 2027.
The measure supports vocational retraining. Eligible private training organisations may apply by noon on 5 November; participant eligibility is subject to the conditions in the call.
Editorial perspective: the measure is relevant to the stone supply chain, where silica exposure requires attention. Training and support for affected people do not replace prevention of workplace exposure.
