Fixed sample: reporters with an observed H6 record in all six extracts (three HS headings × two flows). Missing records are not zeros. No regional aggregates or mirror data. Each query returns fewer than the preview limit of 500 rows. Sample shares and totals are not world shares or totals.

National totals do not identify a market’s suppliers. Origin shares require comparable bilateral extracts; rankings alone cannot provide them.

Construction and stone +
US permits should be monitored alongside renovations and active projects. They cannot determine future marble purchases in tonnes.
US Census / HUD ↗Marble and travertine. Classify before comparing.
HS 2515 covers marble, travertine, other calcareous building stone and alabaster in rough or simply cut forms. HS 2516 covers granite, porphyry, basalt, sandstone and other building stone. HS 6802 covers worked stone and other articles within that heading, not just marble. These headings are not equivalent commercial grades.
Onyx and marble are not artificially separated when the heading aggregates them.
UN Statistics · classifications ↗How to verify this issue.
Top 10: UN Comtrade, retrieved 31 October 2026, year 2025, HS 2022/H6, world partner, total customs and transport modes. Current USD; net kg divided by 1,000. Unit values equal value/weight. Imports and exports may use different valuation bases and are not added together as market size.
Missing data, coverage and revisions remain visible. We omit the absolute Italian tonnage because the English release contains an inconsistent unit; only its stated percentage change is used.
What to watch next.
- New customs releases: update only when a comparable period is available.
- When value outpaces tonnes, check the mix before claiming price increases.
- Follow US permits alongside trade data without treating them as sales forecasts.
Schedule: the 15th and 30th; February 15th and 28th. A new issue does not necessarily mean new data for every reporter.
