Bristol home extension uses limestone Stonebricks
Stone-Ideas.com reported on 23 October on the extension of a Victorian house in Bristol using Darney limestone Stonebricks. The design retains the reading of the existing brick building while adding a contemporary volume around a small courtyard.
Sawn and split-face surfaces were used, with lintels in the same limestone marking the façade. Hutton Stone cut and supplied the material; Richard O’Hanlon Studio and Bristol Sustainable Builders are named among the project team.
The report says the stone bricks have a footprint around 80% lower than fired clay bricks. This figure is attributed to the project source and does not replace a verified environmental declaration for each supply.
