Pakistan forms four technical groups to modernise marble
Pakistan is preparing a National Marble and Natural Stone Policy for 2026–2030. StoneNews reports that an October 15 meeting in Islamabad, chaired by government adviser Haroon Akhtar Khan, established four technical groups.
Their work will cover finishing, technology upgrades, higher-value products and export promotion. The discussion included the damage conventional blasting can cause to commercial block recovery and the need for more consistent processing for international markets.
Editorial context
The decision begins a recommendation process; it is not yet evidence of completed investment or improved output. Market relevance will depend on whether the proposals become equipment, training, finishing standards and functioning sales channels.
