Iran: six domestic constraints weigh on production and exports
On October 19, the Iran Stone Association republished an intervention by Bahram Shakouri, president of the association and of the Iran Chamber’s mining and mineral industries commission. Energy, finance, foreign exchange, macroeconomic conditions, regulation and internet access are presented as six domestic constraints adding to external pressure.
The paper asks the chamber to move from crisis reporting to operational proposals, including policy packages, technical support for representatives and more targeted use of resources. Unstable energy supply and the difficulty of returning export proceeds through a fragmented exchange-rate system are among the issues raised.
Editorial context
For the stone supply chain, the practical concern is continuity of production and commercial predictability. These are the association president’s assessments and requests, not measures already enacted. Any effect on cost, lead time or delivery therefore needs checking for each company and shipment.
