NSSA elects its first permanent board

StoneNews reports the election of the Natural Stone Strategic Alliance’s first permanent board and Jim Hieb as president. The assembly took place in Verona on September 24; the report is dated October 18. The alliance brings together eleven national organisations across four continents and seeks wider representation.

Editorial context

An international representative body can provide a forum for supply chains with different needs and priorities. Its membership shows who takes part in the discussion; it does not imply that every position is already shared by all market participants.

The editorial interest is therefore in the continuity of coordination and the initiatives that follow. Electing a board is an organisational step, not evidence of new mandatory standards or commercial agreements that the report does not document.
