Darreh Bokhari and Hajiabad: studying stone cutting
How to read a laboratory study without turning it into a productivity promise for every plant.
Aim and method
The study compares twelve stones, including Darreh Bokhari and Hajiabad. Cutting tests and regressions relate current draw to cutting depth, feed rate and mechanical properties.
Results
The models estimate current well under the experimental conditions. Increasing elastic modulus and the operational parameters considered increases current draw.
Practical reading: check your own line
As an editorial guideline, read electrical current, energy per square metre and hourly output separately: they answer different questions. A factory comparison needs consistent records of the machine, tool, thickness, feed, cooling and stone being processed. Test data do not automatically become a cost quotation or a machine setting. Choosing a setting requires the manufacturer’s instructions and checks on your own process.
